As a church, one phrase has captivated us more than any other this year:
Our goal is not to be a successful suburban church. We want to see the fire of God!
This means we want nothing less than transforming revival in our city. Nothing less than a prayer movement sweeping our community. Nothing less than lives changed for eternity. Nothing less than the fire of God.
We see the fire of God in a thousand different places.
It’s in the hearts of more than 290 people who were baptized this year. It’s in the faithful service of thousands of volunteers serving our church and our community. It’s in the passionate worship of our kids and students. It’s in the willing spirits of the church planters we’re training. It’s in the deep sense of God’s presence in our prayer service.
In all these areas and so many others, we see the fire of God moving. And we want more!
This fall, we launched the Prepare Initiative to support this vision. So many of you have made your commitments. Many have already begun to give. I am so grateful! If you haven’t yet made your commitment, please pray about how God would lead you to be involved. These are exciting days at WoodsEdge!
As we approach the end of the year, we have another opportunity to see the fire of God—in the generosity of our people. Would you prayerfully consider a special gift above and beyond your regular giving? All of our ministry is built on the power of God working through the generosity of our people. I am humbled by your faithful, sacrificial giving.
WoodsEdge, I am so incredibly blessed to be your pastor. Gayle and I love you so much! What an honor to serve God together with our church family for these 32 years.
