Prepare Initiative

The Prepare Initiative is a two-year giving campaign to support the next steps in our vision to see Houston become a city of God.

All giving to WoodsEdge - including our regular budget, funds for buildings and renovations, and missions - goes to the Prepare Initiative fund. As a church, we have a single vision, and all our giving supports that vision.

Financial FAQ

What are the principles of giving?

Giving should come from a joyful and willing response to God’s blessings, not out of obligation or expectation. We believe in the biblical principles of tithes and offerings. Our tithes support the church and its ministries, and offerings are above and beyond the tithe. Malachi 3:10 tells us, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, says the Lord Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”

Why should I tithe?

Giving isn’t a LAW thing, it’s a GOD thing! While the principles of giving are found in the Old Testament, Jesus demonstrated true generosity by his becoming man, suffering, and dying for our sins. (2 Corinthians 8:9) He also instructed the disciples, telling them that when they gave, not to boast or brag about it. Note that he didn’t tell them “if” they gave, but “when” they did. (Matthew 6:1)

What if I am unable to give?

God doesn’t want us to be a slave to our finances. Trust that God is sovereign over your heart, your worries, and your finances. We have an entire team of financial counselors who would love to connect with you and help you get your finances in order. You can email us at   for more information.

Is my giving tax deductible?

As a designated 501c3 non-profit organization, contributions are tax deductible to the full extent permitted by law, and each donor is mailed a giving statement in January reflecting all non-designated giving. For more information about WoodsEdge giving, email us at   .
