Missions Update: Bring Hope Week Preview

February 12, 2026

Mark your calendars for our very first Bring Hope Week here at WoodsEdge, kicking off on Sunday, February 22! Throughout the week, we'll host meaningful events designed to help each of us understand what it truly means to live a life on mission. Our prayer is that every person—every adult, every student, and every child—would be encouraged to see how God has uniquely called them to live on mission in their homes, their neighborhoods, their city, and across the nations.

We'll begin with a special Bring Hope Sunday as Kevin Phillips from For All Mankind Movement (FAMM) brings an encouraging word, inviting us to step out in obedience and live out our faith and discover what it means to live a life on mission. Kevin has been serving in full-time ministry for over 25 years. After serving several years as an itinerant evangelist, Kevin served nine years on church staffs. He and his family then started FAMM, gave away everything they owned, and moved to the Middle East. Kevin's calling and passion have led him to share the gospel and train leaders in over 60 countries on six continents. He is a dynamic, passionate Jesus follower who will inspire us with his stories of reaching the unreached around the world.

On Tuesday night, we'll have Bring Hope Breakouts, which are an opportunity to learn from our WoodsEdge Missions team about Local and International Missions. Gather to hear our vision for local and international missions. Then choose two short breakout sessions on Church Planting, Local Missions, Short-Term Mission Trips, or Long-Term Missions. No registration is required. No childcare is available, but kids are welcome.

On Wednesday night, come early for prayer meeting at 6:15 p.m. for a special time of focused prayer for our international workers and missions efforts around the world. Our 7 p.m. Prayer Service will be focused on praying for the nations in a meaningful immersion experience. You won't want to miss this prayer emphasis that aligns with the Awaken Houston fasting and prayer initiative throughout our city. See prayer prompts here.

In addition to prayer walking your own neighborhood throughout the week, on Saturday, you can participate in a prayer walk at Greenspoint, the Third Ward, or downtown Houston with fellow WoodsEdgers. We encourage you to download the Holy Here app on your phone to track your prayer walks and to see where others have prayed in our city.

We'll end the week on Sunday, March 1 with our celebration at Fiesta of the Nations, a joyful gathering where we experience the beauty of God's global Church through culture, food, worship, and stories from around the world. If you want to represent your country by preparing food to share or helping to decorate your country's tent, please fill out our form! If interested in volunteering to help with setup, greeting, and hospitality at the event, please sign up here. We need many volunteers to help make Fiesta a fun and festive time for our church family!

So get ready—set aside this week to fully dive in! Join us in praying and preparing over the next couple of weeks, asking God to reveal what He is calling you and your family into this year, and how He is inviting all of us to live as a people on mission together.
