      After refugee families have been resettled, research suggests that refugees thrive if surrounded by a strong social support that can help them navigate through their new life. Show Christ’s love by befriending a refugee family as they settle into a new culture, language, education system, and society. You can also volunteer by teaching English as a Second Language to new refugees at Prestige Learning Institute.       Revival Sports is a ministry that uses athletics to build relationships and effectively disciple refugees and immigrants from all over the world. In Houston, weekly sports events, ESL classes & Discovery Bible Studies are held in Southwest Houston as they share Christ’s love through word and action among refugees from Myanmar, Bhutan, and other nations.     • THREADS OF LOVE Food and clothing pantry

      Threads of Love is a food and clothing bank located on the campus of WoodsEdge Community Church. The mission of Threads is to bless our community by making available food and clothing to people in need from within our church, the community, and surrounding areas. Threads is run entirely by volunteers and can always use extra help. Since many of our shoppers are Hispanic, we are always in need of Spanish speaking volunteers.       Five Oaks is a grassroots ministry that serves kids and teenagers from Five Oaks community and surrounding areas through various programs, such as a weekly Bible study, academic support, fun fellowship activities, and other service and outreach events.       HWR is an organization that strives to ease the resettlement process for refugees with hope, honor, and love. Get involved by forming part of a welcome team, assembling welcome kits, or joining a move-in team. You are welcome to serve with your family!


      You can touch the world by serving and showing love to international students at Lone Star College—The Woodlands, the University of Houston, and Rice University.       Prestige Learning Institute is a ministry that fosters community development and opens doors of opportunity for adult immigrants and refugees. PLI accomplishes this by providing culturally appropriate and affordable education initiatives, including literacy and English as a Second Language classes and a Mentoring Program, that empower students to advance personally, academically and economically.     • Community Gospel Justice Center

      Community Gospel Justice Center is a Christian legal assistance clinic operating at WoodsEdge on the second Saturday of every month. CGJC serves oppressed clients who are facing a civil legal challenge and provides them with a consultation with an attorney, childcare, and Biblical guidance.
