Elementary Coordinator

Position Summary

The Elementary Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Elementary Programming Coordinator in developing creative programming and large group teaching for elementary children, grades 1 – 4 for Sunday and Wednesday services through an engaging environment that fosters worship and develops a lifelong love of Jesus. They will also aid the Elementary Sunday Coordinator in managing our Sunday classroom volunteers to maintain a safe and fun environment focused on learning more about Christ.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Works with the Elementary Programming Coordinator in recruiting, training, and equipping Team Leaders for each area of the program: Storytellers, Hosts, Worship Leaders, Crew, Tech, and Stage Designers.
  • Intentional in discipling volunteers, empowering them to grow in their relationship with Christ.
  • Use creativity to add engaging elements to Large Group stage design that changes monthly.
  • Assist in expanding family ministry opportunities for our church and community through periodic Worship experiences.
  • Aids in sending out monthly worship set, Large Group Message Scripts, and schedules through PCO.
  • Assists the Elementary Sunday Coordinator where needs arise, helping to maintain safe and thriving classroom environments and continually looking for opportunities to invite more volunteers to the team.
  • Manage time efficiently and work with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
  • Assist in leading Wednesday Night Bible Study (at least 2 Wednesdays per month).
  • Available weekly for 1 Sunday service time (also filling in other times as necessary to support team).
  • Ability to coordinate and execute monthly volunteer team meetings to train and equip new and incoming members.
  • Connect weekly with team for communication, updates, special instructions, and encouragement.
  • Assist in planning special events programs and set needs such as: Easter, Christmas, Fall Kick-off, Promotion, Summer Special events, etc.
  • Become familiar with technical aspects of environments: hardware, software, sound, lights, etc.
  • Coordinate with the rest of the Children’s Ministry team and volunteers to help lead Crew Camps (twice a year).
  • Collaborates with the Elementary team in exploring effective means of partnering with parents to empower them in discipling their children.
  • Work closely with other members of the Elementary team for administrative assistance, giving advance notice of shopping needs.

KidsEdge Preschool Teachers

KidsEdge teachers provide Christ-centered care and education for our week-day preschool.

School days are Monday/Wednesday 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Care for children (birth-Pre-K) including supervising and monitoring the safety of children in their care
  • Prepare and plan daily schedules and lessons for the school year
  • Follow schedules and routines to ensure that children have enough physical activity, rest and playtime.
  • Partner is making disciples in the classroom
  • Follow preschool policies and protocols for safety, security and care of the children.
  • Clean and care for spaces after each school day and ensure rooms are properly stocked.
  • Strong healthy relationships with other teachers, WoodsEdge staff and parents.

Café Volunteer Coordinator(s)

  • Position Summary

    The café volunteer coordinator serves WoodsEdge and its congregation by helping to provide a welcoming and engaging weekend experience through coffee service.  The primary responsibility of this role is engaging, equipping, and supporting volunteers to execute the weekend coffee experience. 

    Key Roles and Responsibilities
    • Acts with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of WoodsEdge Café.
    • Master WoodsEdge coffee, espresso, and tea offerings.
    • Responsible for setting up cafes and community coffee
    • Ensures clean environments before and after service
    • Conducts training with volunteers by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.
    • Creates a positive learning environment by providing clear, specific, timely, and respectful coaching and feedback to team members on shift to ensure operational excellence and to improve team members' performance.
    • Develops positive relationships with the team by understanding and addressing individual motivation, needs, and concerns.

Generations Team Tech Manager

 POSITION SUMMARY 

The major purpose and responsibility of the Generations Tech Manager is to work in cooperation with the Generations Director & Technical Director in facilitating excellent worship and event experiences. They will lead the Generations Ministry tech team, which includes both volunteers and paid staff, to support the technical needs for all services and special events for the Generations team. 

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Oversee all live production technical personnel needed to run events for Young Adults, Student, Fifty6, Kids Ministries. This includes recruiting, scheduling, and training of audio, video, and lighting production staff and volunteers. 
  • Oversee live production, including Sundays, Wednesdays, special events, live broadcast, and recordings for all Generations events. 
  • Oversee lyric and video playback using ProPresenter. This includes loading media for all events and keeping the lyric database up to date. 
  • Oversee video switcher for output to main screens, confidence monitor, lobby and live broadcast solutions. Manage camera placement and shading adjustments as necessary. 
  • Oversee lighting for Services, worship, video broadcast/Recordings, and special events. This includes lighting fixture placement, grouping, and upkeep of lamps. 
  • Lead in the tech planning and execution of special services (Craze, Summer Nights, Freedom Weekend, Camp, etc.) 
  • Collaborate with Technical Director in all audio, video, and lighting design and installation projects. 
  • Work with Technical Director and team to plan, build, and implement stage designs. 
  • Assist Tech Team in the set up and execution of various church-wide events that take place in the Student Building (as necessary). 
  • Keep Generations Director informed of the status of ministry and sensitive/critical issues. 
  • Communicate special needs to Generations Manager. 
  • Attend WE staff events, prayer, meetings, team meetings, etc.

  • Have a working knowledge of AVL, power, best practices, and implementation.

Event Crew

Position Summary

This position is responsible for completing event setup, cleanup & general support before, during and after services or events. This position helps with event setup/takedown and provides support to the event staff and serves as a custodian while events are underway. Additionally, position performs routine custodial tasks within the property to help maintain the cleanliness, sanitary condition, safety and appearance of WoodsEdge Community Church

Student Ministry Intern

Position Summary

The purpose of the Student Ministry Internship is two-fold: to develop the intern’s ministerial skills and capacity by giving them responsibilities within the Student Ministry, as well as developing their leadership and broadening their experience through exposure in several areas. Individuals in this role will also intentionally disciple students which will allow them to grow in their ability as a disciple-maker; and they will serve in various other Student Ministry tasks as needed which will grow their ability to work proficiently in a ministry team.

Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

Full-time position, Monday – Friday; Holiday, evening, weekend, event work will be required. Helps with building maintenance, repairs, and general housekeeping, supporting day-to-day facility operations, including building cleaning, building grounds maintenance, opening, and closing, light construction, painting, general plumbing, debris removal, gardening, preparations, and event duties.

Video Storyteller

Position Summary

WoodsEdge is a church that places a high value on visual storytelling, a congregation that loves to see God at work in people’s lives. The Video Storyteller will work collaboratively with the Communications Team to produce story videos and other video content as needed for the ministries of WoodsEdge, overseeing end-to-end production from concept to development to completion.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Produce original video content for worship services and online, including story videos (long-form, cinematic, documentary personal testimonies), story vignettes (short-form ministry promos), highlight/recap videos, and social media content as needed
  • Oversee purchasing, organization, and maintenance of video equipment and onsite sound stage
  • Provide video production and consultation as needed for WoodsEdge short-term international trips and local outreaches in Houston
  • Develop and produce creative elements as needed for weekend services and seasonal services (including Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, etc.)
  • Develop and produce creative elements, including social media content, as needed for WoodsEdge events and conferences (including Freedom Weekend, Men’s Retreat, Craze VBS, etc.)
  • Identify compelling story leads within the congregation of WoodsEdge
  • Recruit and develop a volunteer Story Team (film, photo, and written stories)

Requirements
  • Degree in broadcasting, video or film preferred
  • 3-5 years professional video production experience preferred, either in a ministry, corporate or client-based setting
  • Proficiency in operation of cinema cameras (Sony, Canon, Blackmagic URSA), studio and on-location lighting, and audio capture
  • Proficiency in Adobe CC, in particular Premiere Pro and After Effects
  • Strong design sense is a plus

Our Priorities 

Fundamental to who we are as a church and a staff team is prayer. Taken from Matthew 21:13 where Christ states, "It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer’". At WoodsEdge, we seek God first for everything we do. We set aside every Tuesday to pray together as a staff team and dedicate our Wednesday evening service to Prayer and Worship.
