Associate Pastor of Men's Discipleship

Position Summary

The Associate Pastor of Men’s Discipleship is responsible for providing leadership over creating discipleship opportunities for men in the church through interpersonal relationships, programmed events, classroom/curriculum driven education and community groups.  The role includes training, teaching, coaching, equipping, and modeling shepherd ministry, providing pastoral care for group leaders, and communicating the mission and vision of WoodsEdge Community Church.  The Associate Pastor of Men’s Discipleship will work closely with the Associate Pastor of Women’s Discipleship Associate Pastor of Community in order to develop systems and processes for connecting adults at WoodsEdge Community Church into discipleship opportunities both inside and outside of the community group context. 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Within the context of the WoodsEdge mission and vision, participate in casting vision to Community Group shepherds within the Community Group Ministry.
  • Work with the Pastor of Community in the development of a strong community group ministry, fostering community involvement, and missional focus.
  • Teach and train at Shepherding events regularly scheduled throughout the year.
  • Participate in the development of curriculum resources for Community Groups.
  • Participate in the development of curriculum resources for Men’s Discipleship Groups.
  • Coordinate with the Associate Pastor of Women’s Discipleship to develop parallel opportunities for all adults at WoodsEdge Community Church to connect into discipleship relationships and community.
  • Oversee WoodsEdge Institute Classes in order to execute a foundational Christian discipleship scope and sequence.
  • Form and lead a men’s ministry leadership team.
  • Plan and execute the Men’s discipleship ministry calendar events.
  • Provide pastoral support, care, and coaching for shepherds.
  • Commitment to personal time with God every day to pursue a heart that loves Jesus, and to ongoing spiritual, personal and professional growth

Requirements

  • 1- 2 years relevant work experience, specifically in the realm of leading and coaching community groups

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Thorough knowledge of PCO preferred
  • Ability to work Sundays, Wednesday evening and holidays on an ongoing and consistent basis
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.

Elementary Coordinator

Our Generations Ministry is looking for organized people person to enlist, build relationships with, and encourage and retain Sunday volunteer teams for Grades 1-4. The Elementary Coordinator will also play a role in family partnership opportunities, such as providing resources for parents on how to effectively “continue the conversation” at home.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist in volunteer recruiting, including engaging our current Elementary parents as monthly volunteer partners.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to disciple volunteers in their relationship with God and His people.
  • Equip and encourage volunteers in their role as classroom leaders, encouraging them to connect and engage with their few with the time they have in the classroom.
  • Learn individual strengths, growth opportunities and optimal volunteer serving positions by building authentic relationships with our volunteers.
  • Works with Elementary Sunday Coordinator to see that classrooms are ready for Sunday morning service and in order after services.
  • Manage teams and help them embrace the physical and spiritual needs of children in safe, loving, impactful environments so children and families experience God’s love and develop trust and community.
  • Partner with the JoyBridge Ministry team by communicating student needs to our volunteers for the families we jointly serve.
  • Assists Elementary Sunday Coordinator with volunteer trainings, ensuring that our volunteers are up to date on safety protocols and classroom etiquette.
  • Encourage connections, planning sessions and team unity among volunteers.

 

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
  • Experience in church, non-profit, or for-profit business administrative support requiring decision-making, creativity, and a strong work ethic.
  • A desire to see children and families falling in love with Jesus and making a difference for the kingdom.

KidsEdge Preschool Teachers

KidsEdge teachers provide Christ-centered care and education for our week-day preschool.

School days are Monday/Wednesday 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Care for children (birth-Pre-K) including supervising and monitoring the safety of children in their care
  • Prepare and plan daily schedules and lessons for the school year
  • Follow schedules and routines to ensure that children have enough physical activity, rest and playtime.
  • Partner is making disciples in the classroom
  • Follow preschool policies and protocols for safety, security and care of the children.
  • Clean and care for spaces after each school day and ensure rooms are properly stocked.
  • Strong healthy relationships with other teachers, WoodsEdge staff and parents.

Early Childhood Programming Coordinator

The Early Childhood Program Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of large group Jungle Jam and Jungle Jam Jr. program teams as well as monthly environment updates.

 

The EC Program Coordinator will serve the ministry through:

Directing  Channel One Sunday Morning Jungle Jam and Jungle Jam Jr. large group environments.

  • Create an atmosphere where children experience worship and engaging, age-appropriate biblical teaching with the vision of discipling children to help them fall in love with Jesus.
  • Disciple, vision cast, recruit, train, foster sense of community and empower volunteer leaders and teams
  • Work on monthly basis with teams to write puppet scripts, select and download worship songs, create electronic program files, schedule storytellers, worship leaders, tech. crew, puppet teams and environment team members.
  • Send out monthly music list, large group scripts, schedules, and communications to teams.
  • Connect weekly with Teams for communication, updates, special instructions, and encouragement.
  • Assist in planning special events programs and set needs such as: Easter, Christmas, Fall Kick-off, Pre-K promotion, Summer Special events, etc.
  • Become familiar with technical aspects of environments: hardware, software, sound, lights, etc.
  • Coordinate with Children’s team and volunteers to lead Student Crew Camps (twice a year) and disciple crew as they learn to be disciples of the early childhood children.

Human Resources Director

The Human Resources Director reports to the Pastor of Operations and assists Leadership by effectively implementing human resource (“HR”) strategy including the development and administration of HR policies, programs and services for recruitment, compensation, compliance, personnel development, support and retention at WoodsEdge Community Church.

 

This is a full-time position with a workweek of Monday – Friday.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Facilitates staff engagement survey and aids in monitoring / assessing culture.
  • Facilitate health, well-being, and safety for our team, including a supportive work environment and an engaged workforce consistent with the WoodsEdge mission, core values, and culture.
  • Oversees employee benefit programs, negotiates renewals, and maintains strong supportive relationships with brokers and providers.
  • Develop, interpret and apply HR policies, maintain the WoodsEdge Employee Manual, and maintains knowledge of relevant laws, rules, and regulations that relate to the employment at WoodsEdge.
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
  • Communicates organizational, staff, and policy changes to leadership and staff ensuring consistent messaging while maintaining the appropriate level of confidentiality.
  • Work with church leadership to hire candidates for specific positions that fit our culture and values, and who have the specific skills we desire.

Missions Administrative Assistant

Our Missional Living team is looking for an Administrative Assistant to coordinate and manage a wide variety of assigned administrative functions. Under the direction of the Pastor of Missional Living, the administrative assistant provides administrative support in executing the responsibilities for the Missional Living and Movements ministries at WoodsEdge Community Church.

The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented and have strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks at once, work well under pressure, and be a natural organizer and planner. The position requires a heart for missions and those who serve both globally and locally.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintain the schedule for Movement and Missional Life Pastors (two missions Pastors), including day-to-day and long-term management of meetings, projects, and priorities
  • Schedule all meetings and travel, including prioritizing meetings and communicating all relevant details to participants according to an agreed upon preferences per pastor.
  • Balance conflicting priorities in order to manage workflow, ensure the completion of essential projects, and meet critical deadlines
  • Work with staff to collect and assemble information for presentations, projects, and strategic planning
  • Serve as the first point of contact for a wide variety of high-level relationships between Pastors and external contacts as agreed upon by each pastors’ preferences
  • Handle phone, email and postal mail inquiries and respond appropriately
  • Coordinate and manage special projects, including working collaboratively with staff to assure projects meet deadlines
  • Handling basic bookkeeping tasks, credit card reconciliation, expense reporting & budgeting
  • Maintain records, documents, and reports.
