Trust God. Love People.
Dear WoodsEdge Family,
In an effort to protect our congregation’s safety and health, we are complying with the standards set forth by the local government in regard to COVID-19 (coronavirus).
We will not hold Sunday morning services on our campus this Sunday, March 15. However, we will continue with our livestream service at 9:45 a.m. at WoodsEdge.churchonline.org.
We ask that you join us as we worship and take time to be together in God’s Word. We will make decisions on a week-to-week basis about future Sundays and weekly ministry activities.
While the health and safety of our congregation are important to us, we will continue forth in our 40-day prayer challenge, seeking God during this time. We want to use this time of crisis and fear to turn people to the loving heart of Jesus. The Lord has not given us a spirit of fear and he is our ultimate protector. He is not shaken by the current circumstances. But we will continue to be vigilant and smart moving forward.
Church, my earnest prayer is that God would use this crisis to bring revival in Houston and help see Houston become a city of God.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have stated the most at-risk population for COVID-19 are those over the age of 65 with underlying health problems. We encourage you to check in on your family, friends and neighbors during this time.
Thank you for your understanding as we make these decisions. We will continue to keep you informed as we move forward and we monitor the recommendations from local, state and national agencies.
Again, church, thank you for your understanding as we move forward and make the best possible decisions for our church and community. Let’s all be praying!
With much love,
During this time of crisis in our country and world, it’s important to remember those who are already vulnerable and in need. It is those people that feel the effects of the crisis the most, and will often go without food, work, and basic daily supplies. We want to prevent people from our community from going without the things they need.

“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” Hebrews 13:16
Lord, the world is faced with a pathogen that has brought the nations to their knees. It has shaken the economy, our jobs, our schools, and even our church meetings. But Lord, because we look to you, we will not be shaken. This day, we have embraced the new normal of uncertainty, and we are no longer off balance. We have shaken off fear and taken the posture that brings the healing grace of Jesus over us:
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
Lord, we have been severely humbled by this calamity and we pray and seek your face. We repent of trusting things besides You, and we turn from wicked ways that keep us from living righteous lives. We ask that you send your healing grace over all who are afflicted with this dread disease and stop its spread. You are the LORD over all the earth, and you are able to destroy every menacing microbe that threatens to shake us In Jesus Sovereign and Holy Name, Amen.

During unknown times like these, it is easy to sink into fear and panic. But we stand firm in our faith, knowing that God is the King. God is not shaken by the coronavirus. We are choosing to see this virus through a biblical lens, and that means we will Trust God. Love People. To view our message from Sunday on a biblical perspective of the virus, click below:
